Introduction

Byron is a fully qualified physiotherapist with one of our primary care partners, Physio First. At Medbelle, he utilises his experience within healthcare to support and produce clinical content for patients. As well as employing his knowledge as a healthcare professional, he uses up-to-date information and guidance to ensure all content is reliable and high-quality. He has been a member of Physio First for over 20 years and is currently the Honorary Education Officer. In addition, he has run a small network of clinics since 2000 and is passionate about ensuring his team are provided with up-to-date education resources on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities as a Medbelle Author

As part of the Physio First physiotherapist team in partnership with Medbelle, Byron creates and peer-reviews medically accurate and informative content for patients, including website pages, treatment guides and articles.

Author - writing content, using up-to-date resources and specialist knowledge and experience to create high-quality content for patients
Peer-review medical content - an important process in ensuring content written by the physiotherapist team guarantees accuracy and quality is maintained.

One piece of advice for someone considering orthopaedic surgery

The most important advice is to ensure you get yourself in the best shape you are able prior to the surgery. This will speed up your recovery, and therefore your surgery will be more successful.

A common misconception about physiotherapy

There are patients who are unaware of how extensively we are trained in the assessment, diagnosing, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. We do so much more than many patients think.

Where do you feel you’ve made a difference in the healthcare sector?

I think my strength is in educating patients on what to expect prior to their appointment so they are as prepared as possible. Also, to ensure they feel comfortable about attending and get as much as they can out of their time with us.

What does the future of healthcare look like to you?

I think there would be a great benefit in more collaboration.
