His work as a consultant spinal surgeon in Ipswich hospital extended beyond the care of his individual patients when he became the clinical lead for spinal and musculoskeletal services for five years. During this time, he has been credited with transforming the unit into one of the leading orthopaedic spinal hubs in the country.
